Sonja Rattay

Design is and always has been political.

I am a strategic UX designer from Germany, working with innovation processes and speculative design methods to develop and research services and products with sustainable positive impact. I have pursued studies in Interaction Design at Malmö University and Gender, Justice & Society at Umeå University. As Co-Founder and Head of Design of the successful design and innovation studio Block Zero, I investigate the intricate connections between humans and technology and the emerging ecosystems amongst them. I am also an experienced international speaker and lecturer at design conferences and universities. My work areas are complex expert systems in renewable energy, smart homes, and biometrics.
