Critical AI
The conflicting intentions of human and nonhuman entities within AI systems call for posthuman negotiation.
I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer from China who approaches emerging technologies through critical, philosophical, and poetic lenses. I received an MFA in Design Informatics from the University of Edinburgh and worked at ART+COM Studios and BMW Designworks. I am especially interested in the entanglement of humans and nonhumans, more-than-human design perspectives, and pluralist approaches to knowing and doing. My current work explores new modes of coexistence through designing for, with, and by machine intelligence. Experimenting with data and algorithms, I challenge normative assumptions about human-machine relations and address AI’s ethical and societal impact.
